Membership Eligibility:
Residents of Winnipeg can join if they meet one of the following criteria:
Chileans born in Chile who are at least 18 years old.
Children, grandchildren, and descendants of Chileans, whether born in Chile or elsewhere, who are at least 18 years old.
Spouses of Chileans, if they are not of Chilean descent; Chilean spouses may also join.
How to Join:
Submit a completed application form, supported by two current members. Confirm in the application that you have read and accepted the bylaws. Pay a fee equivalent to one year of membership (refundable if rejected). The board reviews applications. If rejected, the applicant can request an assembly to appeal. The board must follow the "Membership Procedure" for decisions.
Member Rights:
Right to speak and vote.
Eligibility for board positions or other responsibilities.
Right to request a financial report, with a response within 30 days.
Access to association documents (excluding personal data).
Right to be informed of plans and activities.
Ability to present projects, with a response within 30 days.
Active participation in association activities.
Member Duties:
Accept and follow the bylaws.
Promote mutual respect among members.
Understand that membership is a privilege requiring commitment and effort.
Update the association with any personal changes (e.g., address, phone, email).
Pay a monthly fee (currently $5) or an annual fee (currently $50). Discounts are available for youth, students, seniors (65+), and disabled members.
Maintain the association’s property and assets.
Attend regular and special assemblies.
