Winnipeg Chilean Association
Keeping Chilean traditions alive in Winnipeg for the whole community since 1974
Everyone's Home
A short story about us
The Chilean Association of Winnipeg was founded in 1974 by Chileans who arrived in the city following the military coup in Chile. They began its inception with first president Julio Rivas, Over the years, dedicated leaders have guided us. In the 1980s, we established our own space and have actively participated in events like Folklorama since 1979, sharing our culture through music and dance. The association has served as a vital refuge for Chileans, providing support and a sense of community for those far from their homeland. Over the years, it has been crucial in preserving the Chilean language, culture, and traditions. It offers a space where Chileans can connect, share their heritage, and support one another. Today, the association continues to be a cornerstone of the Chilean community in Winnipeg, celebrating its rich history and vibrant culture.
